LADA

Latent autoimmune diabetes in adults (LADA) is often mistaken for type 2 diabetes. Although its onset resembles type 2 diabetes, LADA is actually a form of type 1 diabetes. It is therefore best described as a “slow-progressing” or “late-onset” form of type 1 diabetes.  LADA most often occurs in people between 30 and 50 years old.
