Diabeloop’s hybrid closed-loop system for Type 1 diabetes, now available for smartphones

DBLG2 System uses DBLG1’s advanced algorithm with a redesigned user interface that can be downloaded directly onto the patient’s smartphone.

DBLG1 is a CE-marked medical device. For the list of compatible smartphones, see the link at the bottom of the page.

DBLG2 System key features

  • Easy setup with 5 parameters

  • Possibility to adjust parameters (target, aggressiveness, hypo/hyper thresholds…)

  • Simplified meal declarations with pre-defined quantities for breakfast, lunch and dinner

  • Automatic parameters optimization

  • Zen Mode for a temporary increase of the target glycemia

  • Night mode to define a time range during which selected alarms will be less intrusive

How does it work?

Every 5 minutes, a glucose measurement is transmitted via Bluetooth® to the mobile application. DBLG2 then analyzes the data and decides to:

• Maintain the current settings.
• Reduce or even stop insulin delivery.
• Recommend a specific quantity of rescue carbs to take to prevent hypoglycemia.
• Increase insulin delivery and deliver a bolus to correct hyperglycemia.

That’s what is called a hybrid closed-loop system.
